1) REGISTRATION
Requirements
Athletes willing to take part in the race:
• must be 20 years of age on the day of the competition (11.12.2011)
• must be members of FIDAL (Federazione Italiana di Atletica Leggera)
• can be members of any other sports’ association having special conventions
with FIDAL, only if competing in the Masters and Amateur categories
• must exhibit a Physician Statement certifying the eligibility for athletics
or running, valid as of December 11th, 2011. With this certificate they can get
a one-day membership card issued by FIDAL that can be downloaded on the FIDAL
website (www.fidal.it) and
must be filled in and sent back together with the medical statement and the
payment receipt of the registration fee of € 5 to Tricolore Sport Marathon. THE
PHYSICIAN’S STATEMENT IS NOT SUFFICIENT TO REGISTER FOR THE RACE, EVEN IF IT
CERTIFIES THE ATHLETE’S ELEGIBILITY FOR COMPETITIVE SPORTS.
2) REGISTRATION FEES
• € 25,00 – up to the 31th
of Aogust 2011
• € 30,00 – up to the 31th
of October 2011
• € 35,00 – up to the 5th of
December 2011
• € 50,00 – on the 9th and 10th
of December when picking up the bib number.
3) PAYMENT
OPTIONS

• Transaction in Euro through Active Europe
Only foreign athletes can pay the registration fee when collecting their bib number.
REGISTRATION OF GROUPS
It is necessary to indicate a reference person and to communicate to the
Marathon office the date of arrival by bus in order to receive the proper
information. For every eight registrations, one is FREE.
VALIDATION OF REGISTRATION
Please attach to your registration form your payment receipt and a copy of your
FIDAL membership card or equivalent document (issued by other sports’
associations mentioned in the above section “REGISTRATION”). The amount of the
registration fee will be based on the payment date shown on the payment
receipt.
CONFIRMATION OF REGISTRATION
The confirmation of the registration can be checked on-line on the website www.maratonadireggioemilia.it
in the special reserved area where the participants’
list is going to be published. Confirmation letters will not be sent by
regular post, but you can print the confirmation letters by the site TDS.
REIMBURSEMENT of registration fees. Registration fees are
not refundable. In case the athlete cannot take part in the Marathon, he/she
can choose one of the following options:
a) transfer his/her registration fee to another athlete. The transfer must be
applied by the 4th of December 2011 by paying an additional fee amounting to €
5,00 in order to cover the transfer expenses. The substitute must provide all
the necessary personal and participation information (membership card and
physician statement);
b) transfer his/her registration fee to the following edition of the race, e.g.
Maratona di Reggio Emilia, Città del Tricolore 2011. By communicating
the impossibility to participate by the 4th of December 2011 and paying an
additional fee amounting to € 7,00 to cover postponement expenses, the
registration fee will be considered valid for the Maratona di Reggio Emilia,
Città del Tricolore 2011.
BIB NUMBER AND RACE PACK
The numbers can be picked up personally on Friday, the 9th (from 6 to 11 p.m.),
Saturday, the 10th (from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and Sunday, the 11th of December
(from 7 to 8.30 a.m.) at the sports stadium “Giulio Bigi”, Via Guasco. The race
packs will be distributed after the race upon return of the chip.
MAXIMUM TIME
The maximum time to finish the Marathon is 5:30 hours.
PACEMAKERS
A team of qualified race assistants will run the marathon at a constant pace in
order to cut the finish line in:
3:00 hours – yellow balloon,
3:30 hours – green balloon,
4:00 hours – blue balloon,
4:30 hours – red balloon.
MEDICAL ASSISTANCE
Medical assistance will be guaranteed all along the racecourse. Also, there
will be aid stations every 5 km and an emergency First Aid station just off the
finish area. Specialized physical therapists are available for sport massages
just beyond the finish area. Transit along the racecourse is strictly forbidden
to non-authorized vehicles.
SHUTTLE BUS (withdrawal from the race)
A shuttle bus will be available at the 10th km, half marathon, 30th and 35th km
for the athletes who have to drop out.
DISQUALIFICATION
The organizers will exclude the participants from the ranking lists and
disqualify them in the following cases: if they use the race number of another
athlete, give their own number to another athlete, start from a start area
different to the one assigned or for other reasons deemed serious by the race
judges. Those who have been disqualified for the first time, starting from the
2008 edition, will receive an official warning and if they are disqualified
also in the following editions they will no longer be eligible to register to
the race.
RACECOURSE
The racecourse is certified by AIMS and totally closed to traffic. The transit
on bikes and own means of transport along the racecourse is strictly forbidden.
The runners who are followed by bicycle or other means will be disqualified.
TIMEKEEPING
The times will be measured using Timing Data Service chips.
REFRESHMENT POINTS
Every 5 km, according to the rules and regulations issued by FIDAL and IAAF,
starting from the 5th km (5th km, 10th km, 15th km, etc.) Any personal
refreshments have to be delivered at the start area at least 40 minutes before
the beginning of the race.
SPONGING
Every 5 km, according to the rules and regulations issued by FIDAL and IAAF,
starting from the 7.5th km (7.5th km, 12.5th km, 17.5th km, etc.)
CLOTHING DROP-OFF
Fasten the tag with your race number to your clothing bag and give it to the
personnel entrusted with this service who will leave it at the deposit. To
collect your bag you have to show your race number. Despite the utmost care
guaranteed for the service, the organization is not responsible for any losses
and therefore will not make any reimbursement.
AFTER THE MARATHON
Athletes regularly crossing the finish line will be awarded the official medal.
Rankings and participation diplomas will be available for download on the
official marathon website in the days immediately after the race.

PRIZES
On the race day, the first 10 overall winners for the men’s and women’s
categories will be awarded a price.
The prize money is established according to FIDAL, IAAF regulations. The money
prizes awarded are understood to be gross totals before tax deduction, in
accordance with the Italian law. Prizes for Italian athletes will be sent
directly to their residence within 120 days from the date of the event.
CATEGORY PRIZES
The first 3 athletes to cut the finish line will be awarded a silver medal or
sports gear. Prizes will be sent to the addresses written on the registration
form.
IMAGE RIGHTS
As a registered participant in the XV edition of the Maratona di Reggio Emilia,
Città del Tricolore, each athlete expressly authorizes the organization,
together with its partners, to use fixed or moving images taken of him/her
during the Maratona di Reggio Emilia, Città del Tricolore. Moreover
he/she entitles the organization to use these images all over the world and in
media, such as promotional and/or advertising materials, publications and
videos for the maximum time permitted by the current laws, regulations and
treaties, including eventual extensions of the foreseen timeframe.
OTHER RULES
For any unforeseen matters not mentioned in these regulations, please refer to
the specific rules (R.T.I. 2011) and current national laws (Vademecum
Attività FIDAL 2011). The organizing committee reserves the right to
vary any clause stipulated in the current rules and regulations at any time,
due to force majeure.
